A Magnolia's Heart Beats

I wanted to delve into a verse I've read throughout the years but really caught my eye this time around.

"How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings." ~ Psalm 36:7 (NIV)

This verse resonated with me because I was having a conversation with a friend recently about how men are the stronger sex in the home, yet in the workforce women are treated equally in more cases than not. In the case we were talking about, a man from another culture was less than hospitable to women in his place of work and we were trying to figure out if it was a cultural issue or a matter that he didn't believe women garnered the respect that men do here at work.

This verse just stopped me in my tracks because I rejoiced that no matter what our station in life, high or low, stronger or weaker, we are given unfailing love and refuge by God.

What a gift! It is certainly one we cannot afford.

The Hebrew word for priceless is yaqar. It means:

1) valuable, prized, weighty, precious, rare, splendid
a) precious
1) costly
2) precious, highly valued
3) precious stones or jewels
b) rare
c) glorious, splendid
d) weighty, influential

Look at the definition that reads: costly. Yes, it cost dearly. He paid a huge debt on our behalf.
