I just saw where Mr. Obama has 297 electoral votes at this time (10:07 p.m. CDT). Definitely a historical moment in our time here on earth.

While I'm not exactly thrilled with the outcome, I rejoice that I can wait on the Lord. No matter what happens in the next 4 to 8 years, God is still God, and I know His justice and compassion are here for us. I will praise the Lord in this time and be in prayer for our country and it's newly elected leaders. Won't you join me?

God is indeed in control. I'm glad you mentioned praying for our leaders. Regardless of how we may feel about the outcome of this historic election, it's vital that we all pray in earnest for Obama and all of our new leaders.

Wow, another post and verse about WAITING. I'm finding "be still" and "wait" in one form or another everywhere I go! The LORD is definitely drilling something into me!

Your post is beautiful. I will wait and serve.

AMEN!!! God is still in control! We don't have to worry or wait on the president. All we have to do is trust in God. Thanks for the reminder this morning!

I'm trying to trust, but I must admit to anxiety. Barack Obama stands for all the things that the Lord abhors.

Have a great day,
Patti

I am battling the fear and anxiety that came with the outcome of this election. I know it is not of God, He is in control and this did not catch Him by surprise...He has a plan. BUT, today...I feel physically sick...but I will continue to pray for our nation.

P.S. Stop by my blog...I have an award waiting for you.

God sees so much farther down the road than we do.... and I believe that if we love Him and obey Him, He will work this all to the good. He didn't tell us to go out and legislate.. He DID tell us to go, and tell, and to be a light to everyone else. Time to shine!

Three cheers for your positive focus, Laurie Ann! God's Word describes the "terrible days" to be endured before He comes again - I figure that the faster things deteriorate, the faster I know He'll be here!

Hi! I am a new reader of your blog. The layout is gorgeous and I will visit again. On to politics, I have to be honest, even though I KNEW who would win(the media had Obama elected in September!) I still grieved and I wept. I also take comfort, along with you and all of the posters above, that God is sovreign and HE will have the FINAL WORD!!! \O/
Please stop by my blog sometime, if you'd like. Have a blessed 2009!
